Stratos Enthusiasts' Club
The Stratos Enthusiasts Club exists for all enthusiasts of the Lancia
Stratos, in all of its forms.
Members are invited from all areas, whether they are owners of original cars,
builders of replicas, or just plain enthusiasts with a common interest in this
very special car. This is not specifically a web-based club, although it has
this web presence for publicity and to benefit from the possibility of more
timely information updates.
If you are own, or are considering the purchase of, one of these cars the
wealth of information available through the club will be something you cannot do
without. Catch up with club members at one of the many car shows, or maybe see
the cars in action at some of the competitive events that feature this car.
A short document introducing the club is available as a PDF file. As well as information about the club, this document
includes a membership application form. This flyer is also for use by club
members in promoting the club when displaying their cars or attending at shows.
Background
The club was previously known as the Stratos Replica Club, but a
name change has arisen to more accurately reflect the interests and membership
of the club as a whole. The club was formed in February 1988 with a view to
pooling knowledge and interest in the building of kit car replicas of the
Stratos.
The club now has over 100 members worldwide, with particular centres of
interest in the UK, Europe, USA and Australasia. As of this year, plans are
underway to noticeably increase the size and scope of the club and to involve
more cars, owners and enthusiasts in promoting the use and visibility of the
Stratos.
The club is run by a committee,
which has a number of positions that are filled by volunteers. These persons are
elected each year at the club Annual General Meeting. The committee members meet
and communicate on a regular basis to ensure the progress of the club and its
activities.
Other members take on occasional duties, such as arranging particular social
or competitive events. The offer of assistance and help in organising club
activities is always appreciated. If you are of the sort who can plan and
implement events of this sort, we would be very pleased to include you in our
ranks.
Future
Current effort is under way to define and pass a documented set of club rules
that control the operation and constitution of the club. Once these have been
ratified by the committee and accepted by the club members, the rules will be
posted on this web site for general access.
Of greater interest and importance, the club is now affiliated with the ACSMC
(Association of Central and Southern Motor Clubs) in the UK and is planning to
be registered with the MSA (UK Motor Sports Association). This will bring a
number of benefits and help in the organisation of the competitive side of the
club, which should apply to UK and overseas members too.
