Phil Dolby's HF3000

Mot'd and taxed on the 7th May 1998, the
project was originally started in February 1989, and I took delivery and I took
delivery of the main body.chassis and other parts at the Newark Show in 1989.
So, as you can see it was a lengthy build process.
The car was issued with an age related
plate 'T' 1979 by the DVLA, having scored enough points by using donor parts -
engine, gearbox, suspension, steering, etc. The truth was stretched a little at
the end of this list!! Having said that, the chap at the DVLA Nottingham said to
me as we walked over to the car - "Brilliant - that car is NOT leaving here with
a "Q" plate....." I think he liked it.
Spec of the car is as follows:-
- Standard chassis by Spyder Engineering
- Group 4 square arches
- 1979 Monte Carlo winning colours (Chardonnet)
- Engine was initially a 2litre Lancia with Holbay road cams, but this was
upgraded to 3litre Alfa V6 engine
- Image RS7 white 5 spoke wheels with Yokohama AVS tyres
- Sparco seats
- Sabelt harnesses.
